What is the autumn season in the UK? A Great Time to Buy Paint!

What is the autumn season in the UK? By the meteorological calendar, the first day of autumn is always 1 September; ending on 30 November. The seasons are defined as spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), autumn (September, October, November) and winter (December, January, February). During this time, temperatures will start to drop, daylight times will become shorter to prepare for the Winter Solstice, and trees will begin to shed their leaves. So, if you are planning external painting or maintenance projects, you must make the most of the next few weeks and purchase your paints and coatings now.

As the seasons change, it is important that you are aware of the optimum weather and temperature conditions for maximising your painting opportunities. Autumn is upon us and what a great time for those projects such as painting swimming pools, pool houses, plant and silos and roofs. Get painting!

When painting externally, beware of heavy thunder storms washing away your newly-applied paint, particularly water-based types. However, now is the ideal time to undertake those larger external jobs such as walls, roofs, industrial plant and farm buildings. It’s also a great time to dry out any damp surfaces before painting.

We offer a comprehensive range of paints and performance coatings for most situations and surfaces. Many are in stock and others are made to order within a few working days. With new resources, new raw material suppliers and increased sales, we are now able to offer a faster turnaround on our most popular products. Call us on 01202 295570.
