Brexit Transition & Pre-Christmas Delivery.
Are you based in Northern Ireland or are you an Ex-Pat living in Europe? If you need paint and coatings for projects before 31st December 2020, please order from us as soon as you can. Christmas shut-down periods will adversely affect production lead times. Subsequent shipping arrangements which are handled by a third-party courier service, and over which we have no control, may also be compromised. PLEASE PLACE YOUR PAINT ORDER NOW.
There will inevitably be delays with raw materials in, and goods out until the new systems become established, therefore we urge you to call us on 01202 295570 at your earliest convenience to discuss your forthcoming requirements including Pre-Christmas deliveries.
The UK government published detailed guidance in July 2020 for traders on the trade and customs requirements to be fulfilled for trade between the UK and the EU following the end of the Brexit transition period on 31 December 2020. At that point, the UK will cease to be a member of the EU Single Market and of the EU Customs Union, and trade between the UK and the EU will generally be subject to the same requirements as those for trade between the UK and the rest of the world.
Requirements concerning trade relating to the Northern Ireland border will remain subject to the decisions of the special committee of the UK/EU Joint Committee under the Withdrawal Agreement. However, the UK government’s August 2020 policy papers are indicative of its proposals, reflecting the fact that Northern Ireland will remain part of the UK customs territory but that the government will need to respect the requirements of the Northern Ireland Protocol (under the UK/EU Withdrawal Agreement) concerning transit of products from the UK via Northern Ireland to the EU (in particular the Republic of Ireland).
From 1st January 2021, for overseas orders, we will only quote Ex Works and ALL shipping, Customs arrangements, administration and paperwork will become the responsibility of the Buyer.
